In high school my English teacher encouraged me to compete in a poetry competition because I was one of her top students. I felt honored and anxious at the same time because I had not written poetry before. I entered and won in my category as well as placed within the top ten overall. I continued composing poetry and was privileged to publish my first poetry book in 2000.

In 2010, I decided to compose one-page thoughts that included a story and a matching poem. The story would include scripture verses from the bible to add a Christian basis, but it is not just for Christians.

The many positive comments I had encouraged me to share it on a world stage. My hope is that some word or some thought would provide you with inspiration for a moment in your life or for the rest of your life – wherever you are.
