I don’t know about you, but I don’t like waiting. Yet in between the revelation and realization of my dream is the process of actualization.
As professionals, we often find ourselves in a world that demands speed and efficiency. We’re accustomed to acting swiftly, fueled by the adrenaline of competition and the satisfaction of accomplishment. Like a sprinter on the track, which I was in High School, we’re wired to give our best in bursts of energy, achieving our goals with focused determination.
Yet, during our fast-paced lives, we encounter moments of waiting—moments that challenge our patience and test our resolve. We may wonder why progress seems delayed, why success feels elusive. It’s in these moments that we must remember that God’s timing is not our own. At times this can be daunting, but he has a masterplan.
Just as a sprinter’s performance reflects their training regimen, our journey from start to finish is a testament to the work that God is doing within us. In waiting, He is molding our minds, refining our characters, and strengthening our faith. His masterplan includes a purpose for every moment of delay, and every season of anticipation.
In the book of Isaiah, we find reassurance in the words:
But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint
Isaiah 40:31, King James Version
So, let us embrace the wait as a time of preparation and growth. Let us trust in God’s perfect timing, knowing that His plans for us are greater than we can imagine. And as we journey from start to finish, may we continue to build spiritual muscle, ready to soar on wings of expansion when the moment of victory arrives.
