Victory!

Think back to a moment when you conquered a beast, realized your goal or even reached a critical milestone. You broke through the fear, setbacks, and challenges. Now savor that feeling.

You may say, “I don’t know how such a victory feels.” But let me encourage you to add a word to the end of that thought. It is, “yet.”

Now think about someone prominent you admire in your field of endeavor or even in another industry that fascinates you. If none comes to mind, pick one of these notable individuals: Michael Jordan, Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, Oprah Winfrey, Rick Warren, Elon Musk, Ray Dalio, Tony Robins, Thomas Edison, or Abraham Lincoln. What is common among them? They had a vision and a passion for what they wanted. Then they had the courage to pursue it, even in the face of challenges.

When you reflect on your victory, you will realize that the more difficult the process or the harder you worked, the sweeter the victory.

Have you ever asked yourself if someone can benefit from your journey? I hope you answered “yes.” Why not be on the lookout for one person with whom you can share the mechanics of your mountain-top experience? With that gesture you would be leaving your mark and improving the world in some measure. Probably, you might be giving somebody their missing piece or helping them to move at least one step closer to their victory. Someone paved the way for you, directly or indirectly. Now do the same for someone else.

In the bible, there was a kind-hearted man who showed compassion to and helped the victim of a robbery. The good Samaritan gave according to his capacity and enabled the beaten man to have a much better day than he was having. Jesus encouraged the listeners of this story to do the same gesture for someone else. Luke 10:30-37.
