Read the Instructions

Practically any product you purchase today comes with instructions because the manufacturer wants you to enjoy the full value of your purchase.  Imagine buying a new car and not knowing how to open the trunk or worse yet, the gas tank.  You would be using the vehicle for a much shorter time than it was intended.  To use your computer, you must turn it on and wait for the system to boot up.  If you did not know that, you would think that the black screen, words flashing and running down the screen meant the machine needed medication.  If you got a phone call on your mobile phone and did not know where the talk button was, you would miss out on the primary reason for having it. When we miss a page in the instructions or do not read it, we simply miss out.

The Bibleis our instructions for life.  By not using it, our lives can end up being shorter than it should be or lack the meaning it should have, we remain unaware of valuable insights, or we may not learn the primary reason for being here.  It tells us to trust Him when we do not know the next move to make (Proverbs 3: 5, 6).  When we are down it tells us that He can restore our souls (Psalm 23: 1-3).  Maybe your parents are driving you nuts and you just want them to disappear.  Instead you should honor them (Deuteronomy 5: 16).  You say your children are being rebellious and think they should be the kings in your castle?  Perhaps they do not understand their actions are not pleasing to God (Ephesians 6: 14). You are looking for a spouse?  You should live respectably (Psalm 84: 11).  Do not harbor ill feelings toward others but have compassion and forgive (Ephesians 4: 31, 32).  If you are looking to build wealth, give (Proverbs 6: 9, 10).  Our purpose on earth is to honor God (Ecclesiastes 12: 13).  A summary of what to do when you need something from God is look after his business first and He will look after yours (Matthew 16: 32, 33).

Trust Him

Trust Him and do not depend on self

Submit to Him in all doings and He will direct you

Versus, your efforts ending up on the shelf

Besides, His goodness and mercy are not few

We struggle to trust even people we can see

How can we believe in God whom we cannot see?

By faith which indeed takes daily practice

Yes, His power provides our lives the lattice
